I bought Rainbow Research henna after using lush's first several months ago. Rainbow research seemed to be a lot simpler and less of a mess so I was excited to see how it turned out. I decided to do some research and try something new. I bought Rainbow Research in both the mahogany and copper. I used 3 parts mahogany, 1 part copper and mixed with raspberry zinger tea, applied and let sit for a few hours. The application is messier than traditional hair dye, but after using lush henna, Rainbow research seemed like a breeze to me! That being saidm I am incredibly disappointed by the color, it is murky and bland and frankly more of a gold brown color than red or copper at all. I followed the directions exactly, so I am unsure why the color is so dull. It’s much darker than I anticipated and the top and the bottom are much different colors, though it was not the case before I colored it. Looks like I will have to continue using the Lush Henna. One positive I wanted to add is that my hair does feel incredibly soft and shiny after using it!
