Be sure to follow directions.  Wash your face well, then I feel the best way to get the most dirt and oil out is to make sure you either safely steam your face or apply a warm/hot towel on your face for a few moments.  This opens your pores so that the blackhead remover is able to easily pull out the blackheads.  Nice suction.
