Yes, standard wooden lead, but with plush toppers and wrapped in a flashing holographic surface. Silver at one angle with a rainbow of colors at another. The pencil itself is around 5" in length with the toppers approximately 2 - 3"
The fluff on the feather hasn't fallen off during daily use to include being rubbed on my daughter's cheek because she thinks "it's so fluffy!". The heart is plush a good "bopper" for the thinker while writing or drawing. Both the fluff and plush are installed quite solidly onto the pencil ends; no worries of them popping off.
