This belt is an upscale version of the standard issue military style belt. The buckle is a lot nicer looking, the strap itself seems to be better quality, less coarse, and the overall construction gives off a sense of higher quality than expected from this kind of belt. The quick-release is, well... less quick than I'd have expected but perhaps it will loosen up with time and use. I'd use this belt more gladly with regular, street slacks than on a hiking expedition, where you may need to tighten or loosen your belt in a split second because of changing conditions in the terrain.
