Great boneconducting earphones, but flimsier than others

 

 

My husband has been asking me to keep an eye out for another set of bone conducting headphones for him since he has enjoyed the others I got him a few months back. He has found them to be comfortable, convenient (being wireless he can get up and walk around without having to disconnect), and he can hear what is going on in the house while watching his videos. He wanted a new set to keep in his bag for when he goes running or to the gym. I saw these and thought they might work for him.    When I took them out of the package they felt a little cheap to me. They are lightweight for sure, but feel a little flimsy. They are made of plastic, unlike the more heavy metal and plastic of the last set he has used. But the last set he said were not really bone conducting so much as just louder out of ear headphones that perch in front of your ears. We were not high in our hopes that these would work any better since they felt cheaper in design.   He hasn't had a lot of time to play with them yet, but has been using them the past two days. He is planning to use them on his run either later today or at some point tomorrow.  He said that will be the true test of whether they work for him or not. So we shall see how the next few days go for him while using them.     He said that the sound quality is good. He can hear things nicely, clear and loud, and has full control over them from his phone. He had no trouble getting them to connect with his phone and didn't experience anyl interference from anything else while wearing them. They fold up for easy storage, and come with a cable to charge them.     He did say these are more bone conducting than the previous set of earphones. They fit over the top of your ears and sit right in front of them, leaving your ears open and unplugged. Bone conducting means that while it is playing, it goes through the bones to the inner ear, amplifying the sound. I cannot hear him listening to anything from next to him or across the room, so he is not playing them as loud as he has with the other pair and he said it definitely feels like they are better than the others. The sound quality with the bone conducting is actually better than his wireless earbuds or the other bone conducting set, so he said these are actually pretty good, despite being cheaper in feel.   So while I want to give a more positive review, I am not sure I can give it a full 5 stars since I do think they are cheaper in design and don't have a carrying case. I do think they are better than the last set we got, thus a higher rating.
