I really like this dress, and so do my girls!  We got the Large, and its too big for my 7 year old and a bit too small for my 9 year old, so 8 is probably just right.  It seems to be sewn well, and they love it so much we're ordering some of the other prints. It's a basic dress-you really can't go wrong!
