I bought this as a gift for a friend because he actually uses this often.  He says it helps his beard look and feel good . Her said there's no smell to the balm and wishes it did. And really likes the oil in the winter months.  This isn't a miracle worker but does help promote growth he said. He's satisfied with this product.
