I appreciate the bright visible string on these tent stakes as I have tripped on others in the past that were not as visible. Seems that they would work in a variety of different soils, but I am concerned they may not hold up to rocks getting in the way. They are lightweight, so will not add too much if you are carrying them in a backpack.
