I was so excited to get this item. It was intended to clean the area around my desk. The transfer speeds are good. The connectors are gold plated which helps to maintain high transfer speeds since gold is a much better connector than copper which most ports use. The only quirk I found with it is that the adapter and laptop need to be plugged in when utilizing certain devices in the ports. It is definitely a great product on the go and at home docked. ike that it replaces the two USB C ports that it connects to with two additional USB C ports.So you don't lose that functionality. There is also a small white light on the one end which I guess just shows that the connection is working. Not sure how much power that wastes but it can't be much.
