Cute set

This is a nice gift for younger kids to have as a starter explorer kit. The bonus accessories that are included with the binoculars range from decent to great quality for children. The compass is my favorite of all of the items. It's interesting, actually useful, and educational. The magnifying glass and tweezers are basic and cheaply made but durable and not easy to break which is important! They are about the quality you expect to find in a kids set. 

The binoculars...they were a bit disappointing in my opinion. They don't adjust like most binoculars do to help the user get a clear view. They don't help to see long distances as you expect a set of binoculars to do. They do seem sturdy and safe for a first set for kids which is a plus. I just thought they would be better than what they are. I had intended them to be a gift for a child a bit older but they aren't the quality that a 11 year old boy scout in middle school would need for outdoor activities, bummer. I do think they will make a cute gift for my nephew who is four. He'll enjoy being a backyard explorer when using them. 

My recommendation is for younger children only. This is a good first time set of binoculars. There are better ones out there but the accessories help make this a bit more worth it. There is also a carrying bag to put everything in that I forgot to mention. It's a nice little bonus item to have.
