I really did not know we needed one lol until suddenly I am have to link two incompatable units and the HDMI I had did not have that ability. So for the use value, this is nice. It matches with kids school devices and the projector...so assignments are next level neat. But If you dont have a C type connection...dont get...it is not universal.
