I really wanted to like this but it will not work on my phone or tablet

I had high hopes for this wireless outlet wifi plug, and hoped to be able to use it in my home to simplify my life. I don't know if it is specific to my phone and tablet, but I just cannot get this smart plug to work. I plugged it into an outlet and the lights came on. I am assuming it is ready to go. I installed the smart life app as the directions said. Unfortunately, there are a few different smart life apps listed on google play, and it took a couple of tries before I got the right one. The first gave me nothing but errors, and I was not even able to install get the app registered. I think I now have the correct app installed, but when it asks me to configure my wifi, it sits on the configure screen for what seems like forever. I have tried it multiple times, but just am not getting anywhere with it. I left it attempting to configure for several minutes, but eventually had to just give up. After many attempts at connecting this smart plug to my phone, I have finally given up. I will give this to one of my children or grandchildren and see if maybe one of them can get it to work with their phones. If so, I will update my review accordingly.
