I recently purchased a light very similar to this, just a little smaller and it only had one magnet on the bottom as opposed to the 3 plus a fold out hook; which I find to be a neat extra feature. The light takes 3 AA batteries that are easily inserted by unscrewing the base. Then to turn it on you just open it, but be warned ITS BRIGHT! I was shocked at how much brighter it is then the other I have. Also, since it has 3 magnets on the bottom and not just one, it sticks and stays vertical or horizontal. Overall great purchase I can not wait to use it on a hike or camping. Right now I’m using it to light my reach in refrigerator at work as you can see in the picture.
