With all of the camping my boys do in Boy Scouts, we have a lot of different styles of lanterns in the cabinet. I could probably provide each patrol with two lanterns with all that I have amassed over time. It is amazing how the camping supplies have gone from us having nothing to having so much stuff we don't use half of it. The life of a Scouting family.... This lantern is similar to another I have that I like to use when I am camping with the boys, but much smaller and more compact. It collapses on itself when not in use and you pop it up when you want to use it. I like the fact that you don't have to pop it all the way up to get light from it, though. You can only open it part way and switch it on, limiting the amount of light you use. Though it is smaller, it is a bit heavier than some of the other light weight lanterns we have, so would not be good if you are limiting the weight in your bags. But if you are a car camper and have tubs, this is a great addition. It is small enough to easily fit in your supply tub or bag, but not bulky or cumbersome. It has magnets on the bottom that you can use to attach it to things (you can even hang it upside down on the inside of a metal cover) so works great for sheds and other tight spaces. It also has a hook on the bottom you can pull out to hang it from. It seemed strange to me to hang it from the bottom, letting the top pop down instead of up, but works just the same. It is quite bright for being such a small lantern and works great. I may just leave it in the car for emergency purposes or for when we are out in the evenings and needing some additional lighting. It is small enough it will fit in the space in the back of my SUV easily without taking up a lot of room, but bright enough that it will easily light up whatever area we are in. It is also great to have on hand for power outages, since it is battery operated. If this was solar powered, it would be perfect. But I can deal with batteries for the convenience of a small, compact light that is bright and powerful. #RankBoosterReview #sponsored #amurgo #campinglantern #popuplantern #ledlantern #lantern #camping #boyscouts #scouts #scoutermom #scoutmom #campingfun #poweroutage #safelights
