It's nice that this is rechargeable. It runs quite a while on one charge, so I can take it with me and know it will go all day intermittantly. This fan is pretty powerful but not as powerful as some others I have. Still a nice fan to have around and in my purse for those hot flashes that we all know and Hate! It has a tendency to walk when it's on high, so a small piece of tape isn't a bad idea if you are sitting it on your desk.
