Seal was loose but worked well

I purchased this Wax Seal by Michelle Dore because I am getting married next year and I want to be able to seal my invitations with wax, because I love the aesthetic touch that adds to any mailing. These seal did take a few weeks to arrive, but they arrived within the estimated date of arrival so that was expected. The package arrived with some damage to the box. The white box was torn open, but the product was thankfully inside and undamaged.  The box was clearly taped and it looked like someone yanked on it to try and open it.

The handle of this seal appears to be wood, and the metal seal is gold in color with the seal indented into the medal. The gold metal was clean and shiny when it arrived. However, the looseness of the metal head was a bit concerning and it would not tighten although I tried. It made it rather difficult to get a perfect seal when the head would wobble slightly when I was applying pressure to the device. Unless I can find a way to tighten it, this seal will be very tricky to use and I may need to replace it.              

As a whole, I really liked the aesthetic design of this seal. I got the letter K for my seal, but I did not get to select which letter I would like. I am likely to purchase a P and a W as well if I can find a way to tighten the seal head, for my spouse’s first initial and last initial, if I can figure out how to request a particular letter. The design around the K is decorative and pretty, without being too over the top.

Still, I overall did like this wax seal. I would give this product a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It would have been a nice touch to include a brief set of instructions on how to seal an envelope for people who have never done it before. It lost the single star because the seal seems a bit loose on the handle, although it does not seem as though it is likely to fall off.  It also lost half a star for the packaging. While it is not the seller’s fault that it arrived damaged, per se, it could have been packaged more securely to prevent such easy access to the product. In addition, I wish it was straightforward to request a particular letter from the seller.
