This magnetic plate does as advertised. It gives you the added insurance of your phone sticking to the mount to give you some piece of mind. I had no problem with my case sticking, but my case is also not the real thick kind. It does show on the ad in the pictures the compatible phone types and cases. For my purposes, it worked just fine.
