It started helping right after we put it on her. She was very confused the first several times we used it but it only took 48 hours and she doesn't bark like she did. I would never use a shock collar but this is a great little collar. No pain for the dog and she learned fast that the feeling came when she barked. Now she will just make a little grumpy growl softly. Well worth the money for us.
