This is great for facebook live streaming or even youtube video recording I have used this a few times already since I have owned it. It works great for holding the phone since it opens on both sides and extends pretty big for the phones or even smaller tablets it all depends if you use the app for the phone or you use the holder as a holder.
I have never used it just to hold the phone or tablet but it could be used that way if your not recording or streaming.
