I am already doing my Christmas shopping for the year, though it is only mid-September, and my neice is almost done! I got her this set of fineline gel pens to use for her homework, notes, crafts, and whatever else she wants. They are all different colors, no two exactly the same, though many of them DO seem VERY similar. They write smoothly, though. I had no skipping like you get with regular gel pens, and they are definitely fine line! Would work great for crafting. It says they are good for adult coloring books, which I can see if you have a small section to color, but if you have a large section it would take forever because they do have such a small tip and release a small amount of ink. But they see like great pens.
