Loving the new cover for my steering wheel

  My steering wheel cover was looking pretty shabby. I have been meaning to buy a new one for quite some time now, but have not made it a priority with everything else I needed to take care of. But I finally decided to take the time to pick up a new one. I chose this black steering wheel cover because my older tan one had more cloth-like areas on it that got really grubby looking. I figured the black would hide that so much better.   The way they shipped this kind of surprised me. When I have purchased steering wheel covers in the past they have always come wrapped around an insert or having pole-like structures inside them to help retain the shape. This one had none of that - no foam inside the actual wrap around, no inserts, and folded in half. It took some time to get it to lay flat enough to take pictures and get the bend out of it. I think they could really use a bit more investment in the packaging and branding of the outer wrapping of this to make it more eye appealing. Had I seen it in the stores I never would have bought it.  But luckily I did not, and the cover itself speaks for itself once on the steering wheel, so all is good.   It is made of microfiber leather, so has a more rubberized feel, but softer. It does not cause your hands to smell after holding on to the steering wheel, which I feared being leather. My hands have not been sweating while holding it, which could be due to the air holes in the cover or from the actual product itself. Not sure. It is black, which I wasn't sure of at first since it gets REALLY hot here and we all know how much hotter a closed up car can get when sitting in the sun. But it doesn't seem to hold the heat in it at all. It hasn't been hot to the touch and has been comfortable to drive with. Of course, it is only April here right now and it hasn't started getting super hot yet. It has only gotten up in to the mid 80s so far, and thankfully we haven't started seeing any of those triple digit days we experience ALL summer.... so only time will tell before I know if this retains heat or not. If it does, I will be swapping it out for something cooler.   The inside of my car is tan with black carpet and tan dash and doors. I have done black cloth seat covers and a tan dash cover and steering wheel cover so far, but have been replacing all of the tan with black since I have learned that being a mom and having tan  is not the most appealing look once it gets stained. I wasn't sure about the red stitching in the cover since it doesn't match a single thing in my car, but honestly the red doesn't stand out that much and the black is more of the focal point, so it looks fine.   It does come in other colors, as well. You can get it all black, which I probably should have done. Or you can opt for blue stitching, red stitching, pink trim, blue trim, etc. There are also some different styles of the vent holes, making for a sleek look that fits your personality.   And it wasn't too hard to put on. Normally I have a horrible time putting these on my steering wheel and have to rely on my husband to do it because I am simply not strong enough to stretch it and slide it over. But this one I was able to do myself and it doesn't slip off. It did take some muscling and pulling, and two of my poor nails got destroyed in the process, but I was able to do it this time. That is success for me!   Very pleased with this steering wheel cover. It has made my car look so much better. And it is super comfy. No sweaty hands, no hot steering wheel, and a clean, sleek look. I will have to keep this in mind for future purchases when I am in need of a new steering wheel cover.
