I thought maybe this might be something my middle son and I could do together since he enjoys the creative process, too, but rarely finds crafts he wants to do that are not too girly. I figured sand... painting.... win win! He was eager to start on it when it arrived and unpacked it all on the kitchen table while I was cooking dinner. Needless to say, it did not happen and is now in the trash. There are no instructions in the package, so we had no idea how to even use the stuff inside the package. There were pictures that we kept for the littlest one to color with her crayons, a cardboard tray to put everything in, tons of different tubes of sand and glitter, a paintbrush, a cone shaped paper cup, and a bamboo stick. The items we got do not look anything like the pictures on Amazon. The Amazon listing says they are sticky pictures. We could not find any way to peel anything off and reveal the sticky side of it to adhere the sand and glitter to. We tried everything we could to get it to work and finally my son resorted to just pretending and then making a mess. If it was not for the Amazon listing saying what it SHOULD have been we'd not have known. As you can see from the pictures, they have the outlined image of what the picture should be on what appears to be colored paper, but they are not vibrant and colorful like the Amazon listing and we could not peel it free from the edges nor find any score marks on the image to peel from. Some were a bit more colorful, but not at all like the description images and not what we expected or could use. We couldn't get it to work the way it was intended. Maybe we had a bad set, but I am not going to risk it and order another one to see.
