Good Morning, 

We currently dont have a fence in the back yard. I have seven and eight years old. They are old enough to be outside but this is a safety issue. I give them one and I keep one. This works perfectly while multitasking. Highly recommend this for any age and does work up 3 miles.  This is a wonderful deal.
