To a point tripods are the same. They stand up or they don't. They hold your camera or they don't. Even a bad tripod is better than nothing with long zooms or low light. Given that, this one is definitely a keeper.
PROS:
The BONFOTO is built of solid materials, with good quality fittings--with care this will last me a very good while--everything works smoothly and fits snugly. It's a refreshing change to use this; it feels far more stable and accurate than the old one, which wasn't this precise even when new. No gaps introducing play or wobble.
The multi-position legs is a cool feature, though I haven't used it yet.
CONS (all are subjective):
I would like more height. I also wouldn't mind a quick release, though unscrewing the plate doesn't take too long (maybe four or six seconds) to remove the camera.
End result: This is a great "prosumer level" tripod for still camera use.
