These lights have a clip so that you can clip them anywhere. They have a timer that you can set for 4/8/12 hours. It will automatically come on the same time every day for the set number of hours. I thought that I would have to plug this into a smart outlet to program it but it already came with one! This is such a good lamp, highly recommended. Good to keep your house plants happy during these cold months.
