I mostly wanted this for my turkey and chicken roasting, so I can get it to the right temp without overcooking-- however, I used it on a steak tonight and it was perfect! I do a lot of cooking and I have a meat thermometer, but not one I can leave plugged in that will let me watch the temp rise without opening the oven. I also have a candy thermometer, but it is not digital. Thus, I am looking forward to putting this puppy to good use with the holidays coming up!
