They seem to do a good job keeping particles out. I like that they fit comfortably, while still allowing me to breathe. Smetimes I do some sanding and need to keep from breathing in the sand particles. I sneeze a lot less when I use these masks. The elastic is not tight at all, but is still snug. I'd buy them again.
