My boys like to listen to music, but not always together. But sometimes they do like to share, especially when they are stuck in the car together or are watching a YouTube video that I don't want to listen to while they are sharing with one another. I figured having something like this splitter might be good because they could easily plug in to it and not worry about disturbing anyone else. But it also has the ability to split off and allow even more people to listen than just the two of them, without anyone having to give up their earbuds. The splitter itself is split in to six different pieces that you can plug in to. There is one port that is used for output, sending you the sound from whatever device you are plugging in to using an aux cable. It worked fine with both my tablet and my phone. And then you have 5 ports that you plug in to for input, to get the sound split from the main device in to each of the sets of earbuds plugged in. I plugged in two different sets of earbuds to it and plugged everything in to my phone then tested one set of earbuds and then the other and found they both had equal sound and power to them. I had no distortion, no static, no interference. It comes with a short aux cable that you can use with your devices, but nothing more. Luckily you don't need to charge it for it to work. It just transfers for you using native power. It is all small enough that it can easily be tossed in a bag or backpack without taking up large amounts of space and is not so small it gets lost. This is going to come in handy on car trips and such when we have multiple sets of earbuds with us and want to share something without having to share it with the entire world around us. Not a bad investment for some easy entertainment.
