I was so excited, I decided to give the Fountain pump to my Dad. He's real 'yardsie'. We put it in his bird bath out front. Before this, we tried several places, found that it has to have direct, constant and strong sunlight. Does not respond to bright lights. It does not store 'energy' to continue working when the sunlight weakens (clouds pass, etc). That said, it's a great idea, very cute, nice water spray, powerful pump for it's size, just too restrictive.
