paint on canvas and outline everything with black. Years ago I used india ink and old Speedball pens for my black lines. I tried magic markers, but they weren't as dark. Lately I've used a paint brush, but it's very time-consuming. These paint pens are amazing. They create a gorgeous black line quickly and easily. Definitely easier than a brush, and the black is nearly as thick as black acrylic in a paintbrush. Another reviewer complained about the paint running out of the pen tip. I have not had that problem whatsoever with these pens. However, I also bought a set of fine tip paint pens (a different brand), and the paint ran out the tip...so I kept shaking the pen and when the paint inside got mixed up better, it quit running out, and it began working perfectly.
