While this is suggested for beginners, the plastic made it seem ideal for my youngest grandchildren. Yes siree, I inflicted all kinds of music on my children over the years only to find that these little instruments really are every bit as melodious as the "real" harmonica I sent to the eldest, although I am unable to vouch for them as a musician. I can say it is unlikely these will find their way to the top shelf with those bells I got one year.
