This works well.  I'm in a rural area and didn't expect exceptional results but it picks up the channels my old bulky antenna did and sits flat against the wall above the tv so it's not taking up space on my table.  I do have the amplifier plugged in--I haven't tried it without but I probably will since it currently is taking up the only USB port on my tv.   It was very easy to set up.
