I have a laptop and this works fine. It is perfect for the laptop which does not have HDMI but needs to have HDMI and VGA. The most computer now came with HDMI, however, there are still some people won't have HDMI but only have USB plug. It is perfect for a projector and TV connection. It runs with my window version. Great adapter.
