With it being summertime again, this sunshade is a lifesaver.
I've had all kinds of windshield sunshades and but not this kind. So I was excited to try this out.
This fits on the outside of the windshield, so it will take a little extra time to set this up. It fits over the windshield of my 2010 Mazda 3 with plenty of room to spare. There is a bit of overlap when I close the doors on this, and it's kind of a good thing. It provides extra shade from the sun. There are magnets on each side of the cover and they stick well to my hood and to the roof of the car. I used it on a pretty breezy day and it held up well. I can feel the strength of the magnets when applying to my car, and they stick pretty well. Not sure how well they will hold up in strong winds, but at least with them being anchored down by the doors they won't blow away.
They work as well and any other sunshade I've used in regards to keeping the car cooler. It is still warm inside, sure, but the steering wheel and seats won't burn you.
I wish these kinds of two sided sunshades came with instructions. I'm not sure if there is a difference in which side to use; there is a silver side and a black side; but I used the silver side facing out and it worked fine. I'm assuming for in snowy/frosty weather you would use with the black side facing up as it absorbs and retains heat better and that will help to keep the snow/ice away and melt it off? And the silver side is used in sunny weather to help reflect the sun's rays? I don't know.
All in all I like this sunshade, despite the extra time and steps it takes to set up.
