I purchased this mini lighted tree to use as a tabletop decoration on a table in our entryway. I like that it can be either powered by 3 AA batteries or by using the included USB plug. It has an on/off switch located on the underside of the base. The tree has a clear acrylic star topper. The star does not light up as I would have hoped but still looks pretty. The tree has bright led lights and looks beautiful in a dark room
