I'm currently renting a house. Unfortunately, there is no screen door in the front or back. Finding this was perfect because no only does it work as a screen door but it also allows you to go in and out without having to fully open an actual door. This has been great since you can easily walk right through it and it automatically opens and then shuts behind you. This is great for keeping the bugs out where you are constantly in and out. Anyone who has kids or dogs knows what a huge benefit this is.
My son is horrible about remembering to shut the door behind him. With this in place, I don't have to worry about it anymore. It is also very helpful on the nice days where my dogs are constantly wanting to go in and out. I have it on my back door and after hooking them to their tie out, they are free to go in and out without me having to constantly run in and out with them. This is especially helpful when I'm busy doing other stuff and can't constantly stop what I'm doing to take them out - especially when they are just wanting to go in and out and not actually need to do their business.
I can easily set up a workstation where I can still watch them and they can still see me near the door. So, as far as they are concerned, I'm still right there with them and it helps them remember to behave. Also, since we don't have a fense at this place, it also provides security for me to know that since I can see them, I can ensure that they are safe and immediately respond if something were to happen or if the neighborhood kids decide to try and tease them.
The dogs and my son love the freedom this screen has given them. They are not able to easily come and go without me constantly having to be outside with them and without me having to argue with them (well, my son) about closing the door to keep the bugs out.
