I've had my solar powered bird bath pump for a few days now and here's what I think. Took it out of the box, assembled it according to the directions and placed it into a container full of water. I placed it in the sun for two days. On the second day I saw it squirting water erratically for a while. I had to add more water later in the afternoon. The third day I saw what you see pictured. It came with different nozzle ends to spray the water how you wanted it and I chose one that would not spray very high. I like this little fountain pump. It operates very silently and the pump is not very powerful at all. That's not a bad thing since I bought it for the bird bath and not a water fountain. If it sprayed a higher volumne then it may require refilling everyday to keep up with water loss. I think the birds will be enjoying it a lot.
