I have a simple Ikea spring day bed I use for guests. It's decently comfortable, but I like to add extra plushness. Since I wasn't up to spending upwards of 100 dollars for extra cushioning, I decided to try this mattress pad. This is under twenty, so I never expected it to be a replacement for a extra layers of foam, but it's not junk either. Before purchasing, I looked at all the one star reviews and was a little worried mine would fall apart in the wash as those reviews claimed. It came well sealed, and I washed it before use. It didn't fall apart in the wash, it washed out nicely and didn't need to be ironed. Some of the cheaper mattress pads and comforters with the same pattern of stuffing tend to retain moisture and take hours to dry (as well as maintain a damp smell), but this is not the case here. I was very pleased to see it dried in one cycle, and smelt fresh and dry. It looks and feels like good quality.
This mattress pad adds comfort and mild padding to the overall bed. I wouldn't say it's a replacement for layers of foam, a proper mattress pad or a plush mattress, but it's a great enhancer for all three. I will probably purchase others for all my beds. I have wonderfully plush mattresses on my queen bed, and this will just enhance it, adding a little more plushness on the top for a very reasonable price. I like it's fitted sheet style. I probably will buy an expensive mattress pad later, but will continue to use this as the cherry on top.
