This functions exactly as I had hoped. The only issue I had was with the plastic support peg on the back I could not plug this in because the spacing was different from that of my outlet. I snipped the plastic support peg off to plug it in and it works perfectly. It doesn't seem to wobble side to side much without the support peg but if that ever does become a problem a little double sided adhesive tape should eliminate any side to side movement. So far, that is not needed as I can easily plug in and and pull plugs out and the unit stays in place. The light is just right--neither too bright nor too dim. The night light feature and the fact that this brand does not have its name displayed on the face of the unit is why I chose this particular outlet extender.
