Pretty, but very light

I decided to order this eyeshadow, manufactured by Pevor, for the younger sister of a friend of the family, who is very artistic and free-spirited. I will refer to her as “D” for the purposes of this review. She has been working on her song for the school talent show really hard and she made honor roll, so I figured that this would be a nice treat. The make-up arrived on time after I ordered it, and was packaged well. The box was gold, which was a nice touch considering that the eyeshadow container was gold as well. The eyeshadow container was a shiny gold that I could see my reflection in, although it did smudge with fingerprints quite easily. The container has a mirror inside, which is convenient for applying the makeup. There was no damage to the packaging or to the product.

When I opened the eyeshadow container, it contained nine different colors, each one with a nice shimmer. Most of them were fairly subtle colors, but it also contains darker shades of brown and black. I tested one of the colors on D to see how the glimmer in the eyeshadow looked. They blend nicely into a pale complexion, but they would also create a lovely effect on darker toned skin. That said, each of the colors go on very light. Even the black and the brown go on very light and barely show up without using quite a lot of the makeup.

I would give this eyeshadow a three out of five stars. Each of the colors are rather nice, and the glimmer it adds creates a nice accent on your eyes or cheekbones with the more blended colors. At only $9. 99 on Amazon, it is a reasonable price for make-up. That said, it requires using a lot of the eyeshadow if you are aiming for a darker color instead of a more subtle effect. Also, the glitter is not evenly distributed through the eyeshadow, so you could end up with the glitter being unevenly applied. I cannot comfortably give it a higher rating when it is very inefficient. I tend to like the make-ups where I can create a striking effect without needing to add so much to my face. Still, overall it is very pretty and will be a nice addition to D’s collection.
