I get this blanket to glow just with the overhead light in my bedroom. It is not a very bright glow so it is not disturbing when you are trying to go to sleep but a soft glow that looks really pretty to me. The blanket is light weight and perfect to throw over you when you are not looking for something super heavy but just want something over you. It is really soft and is working well for me.
