I tried to learn the violin many years ago and decided to get a violin for my son, who, unlike me is talented musically. I was pleased with the nice quality of the wood and bow and am excited about giving it to him for Christmas. The kit came with a full sized violin, a bow, rosin, extra strings and yes, even a case. It is quite a complete kit and the case, though cloth is a very well made case and provides a good amount of protection for the violin. The sound is decent, though I no longer play. It is definitely perfect for a beginner. I was a little apprehensive about having to put on the bridge, but it was simple and I completely understand the need to ship it that way to avoid damages. I am really happy with this purchase.
