My daughter and I love squishes and we like to watch Youtube videos where a Youtuber repairs and repaints old squishes so I thought that this DIY Squishy making set would be a fun activity for us to do together. The kit comes with 6 different slow rising squishy food items, a paint set with 6 colors and a paintbrush. The set has a box of French fries, a donut, a coffee cup, a strawberry shortcake, a hamburger with cat ears and a cup of popcorn (I thought it looked like a milkshake with whipped cream ????).
Each squishy is made of non-toxic PU and is super soft. It does have a slight smell to the items but it is a pleasant scent and not at all harsh or chemical-like. The squishy items all vary in height but most are around 4 inches tall and about 3 inches wide so they are a nice size for kids or adults. We tried painting them with the included paints and it will take several coats to get it to look good. I also had some acrylic craft paints on hand that we decided to try so we could have some different colors that were not included in the paint set. We also used some glitter paint and glued on some googly eyes that I had on hand. The squishies did seem to rise slower as we painted more coats on them than they did when they were unpainted. They rise quickly when they are straight out of the package. There is no limit to the amount of designs you can create with this kit. It is super fun to make your own customized one-of-a-kind slow rising squishy!
