I recently picked up an LED light to use when doing my video reviews. It didn't come with a power supply or battery, so I dug through my electronics box to see what I could find. No luck finding anything. I had to keep my eyes open and looked around til I found this UL rated plug in power source. I wasn't sure if it would work for my light, but I was hoping it would (based on what I could figure out from reading the Amazon listing for the light and looking at the listing for the power source).
I was impressed at how long the cord was for the power source when I undid the twistie tie on it. It is quite long. But long is great for me because I can plug my light in and set it up on the larger tripod, on my desk with a small tripod, or move it around wherever I want without losing my power and the light going out. Unfortunately for me, I discovered my LED light has a faulty plug, so I can't use this power source or ANY power source. I also discovered it is the same plug as my essential oil diffuser, which is how I learned the LED light is faulty, not the new power source. I will be using only the batteries that should be arriving tomorrow to power it up (which does allow me even more freedom, but also means I have to keep them charged or I have nothing).
But what impressed me the most was the adapters. I recall seeing them in the listing, but was more interested in simply the power source itself, so I didn't focus on those. Of course, once I realized I wouldn't be using it for my LED light and my essential oil diffuser was not in need of a new cord, I had no clue what to use it for. When I was checking the Amazon listing for the power source, I saw something in their mega-list of appliances and objects you could use this with and I got excited. After a run out to the garage to retrieve my strip lights, another run back to the garage to find a screwdriver, and a few minutes searching online to determine whether the black or the red wire was negative, I hooked up my previously unusable strip lights (they came with no power source, no plug to connect to, and only two wires on each end) with one of the adapters and my lights came on. They are now going in to the kids' room to hang on the wall near the ceiling. They do have to unplug them when done and plug them in again at night, but that is okay because now they work!
Overall a really great little cord and adapters. Well worth the money and great to have on hand!
