This set includes everything you need to make an painting.  I would suggest this art set for any beginner. If you were to purchase all of this stuff separately at Walmart you would easily pay over $50, not to mention the big art supply stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael's you would pay double! The paint quality is top-notch and the brushes are very fine quality.
