This is a great thing to put on the counter for kneading bread, rolling pie or pizza dough etc. It could be used for any reason to protect a table or counter, really. It is much too big to use for actual baking, but it is meant to be a guide when you are rolling doughs. I would not use any kind of blade on this, or cookie cutter etc as it is silicone and can be cut. It's way better than they old plastic Pillsbury ones like my mother used. A very nice price for an upgrade.
