Everything in my kitchen is stainless steel. Either polished or brushed, stainless steel is the cleanest and safest material you can have in your kitchen (I managed restaurants most of my life). This cup is beautifully finished but has a flaw. The scale numbers are sort of painted inside (12oz, 16oz and 20oz; 400ml, 500ml and 600ml) and make me wonder about how long would they last as readable. If they were stamped in the cup, it would be a 5 star product.
