So I have ceramic coated pots and pans. I've been scratching them up because of my metal tongs and tools.
I made a cooking video and my friends saw that my pots had scratche son them and the ceramic coating was missing. They told me that ingesting the coating can be harmful longterm, so to switch to non-metal tools.
I purchased a bamboo stirrer but then I realized that the protective lacqer was coming off and I didn't want to ingest that! I'm so glad that my friend told me that I should switch to silicone.
The silicone tools are much safer to use, they are highly heat resistant, and not at all difficult to clean.
My favorite is the tongs, it has a tab on the end of it, and once pulled, it tightes shut the tongs so they do not remain in the open position.
