I recently picked up some silicone scrubbers  since I had been wanting to try them out for quite awhile. And I loved them. But then someone cleaned out the cabinet under the sink and threw away a lot of stuff, including my silicone sponges. I needed new ones so that I could go back to using them instead of regular sponges.

These come four to a pack, ready to use straight from the package, all individually wrapped. They have small bristles that work hard to grab things and scrub them free. They drain fast, too, since the bristles are so short. Each sponge is a different color and shape, with one having a textured back instead of bristles on both sides like the other three. They all have a loop at the top so you can easily hang them on a hook to drip dry.

And being silicone, they don't spread disease, nastiness, or yuckiness. Traditional sponges are a breeding ground for all of the nasty harmful things that can cause problems with your loved ones, and every time you wash your dishes, despite using hot water and soap, you are rubbing that right back on to the things you think you are cleaning. The thought of it is disgusting! With silicone sponges, there is no where for things to breed and hide, so you can rest assured that you are protecting your family's health while you wash your dishes.

I didn't get a chance to use my old set very much before they disappeared, so only had minimal experience to draw from for comparison purposes. These work equally as well as the others, being the same design but a little larger. I have only used these once for doing dishes since they just arrived and I wanted to get pictures of them and test them out to compare to the previous ones, but I CAN say the few times I have used either set I was mostly happy. They definitely do a good job of scrubbing the dishes clean and not leaving a mark. They do not scratch them at all, being softer bristles and not harsh like brillo pads or SOS pads.

The only problem I have with them is that they do not get the hard caked on things off. I had to resort to using an SOS pad to get the stuff that refused to budge. I tried soaking for awhile, but that only worked minimally and I still had ick to scrub off. I needed something a little rougher to dig in under it and pull it free.

But other than that, I have enjoyed using them and more importantly have appreciated the fact that they are not spreading the yucky stuff that breeds in sponges and rags.

I definitely plan to continue using silicone sponges. And this time I have instructed the family not to throw them out or put them somewhere other than with the dish washing tools (sponges, scrubbers, etc). I have a suction cup hook on the inside of my sink that I hang it from when done.
