This is a very quick reading Thermometer that is rugged and well made. No delay at all and is very accurate. It come with batteries and the magnetic back is perfect for having quick access in the kitchen on my overhead range. I also use it to verify foods in the microwave are properly cooked. Overall i am extremely happy with the way it is made and how it works
